WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to customize sent text messages. That is what the usually well-informed website claims WABetaInfo.
The messaging service also worked on that option five years ago, but ultimately decided not to introduce the feature. That would now change.
A screenshot of the function on WABetaInfo shows the function. It is unclear how long users are given the time to adjust their text message, for example because it contains a spelling error.
WABetaInfo assumes for the time being that users cannot see exactly what has been changed in a message. However, that may change at a later date, as the feature is still under development.
The site emphasizes that the screenshot was taken from an Android phone, but that the function should also be available for iOS and desktop. It is unclear if and when the feature will be rolled out definitively. Presumably, the feature will first be tested among a select group of users.
