The messaging service intends to facilitate the ability to block a contact or spam.
From commercial messages, scams or rejected suitors who are a little too pushy, there are many reasons to block someone on WhatsApp. However, for now, the procedure can be quite tedious. But that should change.
According to WaBetaInfo, a service specialist owned by Meta, two shortcuts are indeed in the pipeline to facilitate the process. First of all, the possibility of blocking a contact directly from the main interface and not by having to enter the conversation concerned. This must be done with a simple long press on the conversation and a window will appear offering “block” among the choices offered.
Finally, another shortcut must appear on a pop-up notification, alongside the usual “Silent mode” and “answer”. If a suspicious number tries to reach you, you can ban it in one click, nothing could be simpler. However, it must be an unknown or unreliable number. No date has been announced for its rollout, as the feature is only under development.
