Tribunjogja.com – The WhatsApp chat application continues to develop its features to answer the needs of its customers.
Most recently, WhatsApp is currently working on a WhatsApp chat lock feature called “Lock Chat”.
Just as the name suggests, the WhatsApp chat lock feature, aka Lock Chat, has the ability to lock chat rooms (chatrooms).
For example, a user can lock a chat with user X and that contact can be added to the locked chat list.
This feature is intended so that users’ secret messages cannot be peeked at by other irresponsible parties.
Reporting from WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp chat lock feature is available in the WhatsApp beta Android update version 2.23.8.2.
The report reveals that users can lock chats on WhatsApp by clicking on the chatroom and then selecting the contact you want to lock.
Apart from locking private chatrooms, users can also lock group chats.
After selecting the contact or group you want to lock, click the user or group profile.
Then register the account or group to the “Locked chat” list or locked chat.
According to leaks from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will display a special tab “Locked chat” which contains a list of contacts and groups that have been locked.
This Locked Chat tab will later become a differentiator between ordinary chats that are not locked and chats that have been locked.
Regular unlocked chats can be accessed as normal in WhatsApp’s “Chats” tab, while locked chats can only be accessed through the “Locked Chats” tab.
The WABetaInfo report adds that locked chats will not appear in user notifications.
