Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – WhatsApp improves the ability to send photos within the application. Recently, users can send HD quality photos via chat.
“Sharing photos on WhatsApp has just been improved. Now you can send in HD,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced via the Meta broadcast channel on Instagram.
In this new way, users can send photos to each other without having to worry about the quality decreasing. They can still share files and maintain high definition resolution.
Users will see two options when sending photos, namely HD and Standard quality. Final options are still provided to ensure delivery is fast and reliable, said WhatsApp.
Tech Crunch reports WhatsApp has been testing with certain users regarding the new capability. Users of the beta version of WhatsApp on Android and the TestFlight app on iOS saw the option earlier this summer.
WhatsApp keeps these new capabilities protected with end-to-end encryption technology. In addition, the company also notes that photo recipients can maintain the standard version or upgrade to HD if they have low bandwidth connectivity.
How to Send HD Quality Photos
To send HD quality photos, you must first make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp. If not, update or update the application through the application store that is used.
After the application is updated, refer to the following steps:
Open the chat you want to send the photo to. Click the camera button next to the message field. You’ll see a new “HD” button at the top of the screen. Click on the icon and select “HD Quality” before sending the photo. And the photo will be sent in HD resolution. After sending the photo, the recipient will see the photo, which will appear with an HD label appearing in the lower left corner. The label reminds them that you’ve shared a higher quality image.
Apart from using the camera, you can also send HD quality photos from the cellphone gallery. Here’s how:
