“WhatsApp Introduces ‘Chat Lock’ for Extra Security and Privacy”

Jakarta (ANTARA) – WhatsApp, an instant messaging application, presents a new feature related to privacy, namely “Chat Lock” or Chat Lock, this feature allows users to lock conversations they want to keep private more securely.

“Today, we are excited to introduce our newest feature called Chat Lock, which provides extra protection for your most secret chats,” WhatsApp said in a press release, Tuesday.

By activating the Chat Lock feature, chat threads will be removed from the inbox and placed in a special folder that can only be accessed with a password or your device’s biometric security method, such as a fingerprint.

This feature also automatically hides chat contents in notifications.

WhatsApp deliberately presents this feature so that it can be used by users who sometimes need to share their cellphones with family or other people on several occasions.

When activated, users can feel safer and have their privacy maintained thanks to Chat Lock.

To lock a chat, users simply tap each name or group individually, then select the lock option.

When you want to open a chat, users can gently pull down the inbox and enter the password or your device’s biometric security method.

In the next few months, Whatsapp will add some additional options for the “Chat Lock” feature.

These include the ability to lock companion devices and create custom passwords for chats, so users can use a unique password that is different from the password used to lock their phone.

The Chat Lock feature is available globally and can be utilized by all users.
