WhatsApp will soon learn to send short video messages
You will be able to send up to a 60-second video to your loved ones
The new feature will soon be available on Android and iOS
Although WhatsApp is primarily a text chat, it also offers many other ways to communicate with others – you can use it to make a voice call, video call, send a picture, voice message, post location information, etc. With the next update to WhatsApp, a communication element will be added, which was missing in the application until now.
WhatsApp introduces 60-second video messages
For those who don’t like to “tap” text messages, WhatsApp offers the option to send voice messages – just long press the microphone icon in the upper right corner and start recording. From the next version, this icon will have a double function – with a short press, you will change its appearance to a camera, with the help of which it will be possible to record short video messages.
This is what video messages will look like in WhatsApp
In this way, you will be able to send, for example, a birthday wish, a joke or tell your happy news to your friends or family. Videos will be able to be up to 60 seconds long and will be displayed directly in the conversation. They will be played automatically with muted sound, tap on the image to turn on the sound. Swipe up to lock recording and record hands-free. Like other communications, video messages sent via WhatsApp will be end-to-end encrypted.
WhatsApp allows users to send messages, make calls, share files and make video calls through an internet connection for free. It was launched by WhatsApp Inc. in 2009, but was bought by Facebook (now Meta) in 2014 for an astronomical $19 billion. In 2021, WhatsApp surpassed 2 billion active users, currently this number is around 2.24 billion active users. WhatsApp developers are very active and add new features to the app practically every month.
Video messages are nothing new in the world of mobile communication, for example, rival Telegram has been able to do the same function for some time. This feature will appear on WhatsApp in the coming days to weeks, the novelty will be available on both Android and iOS.
