The messenger WhatsApp is one of the most used apps in the world. However, it will soon no longer be possible to use it on some iPhone models. Because like WhatsApp communicatesthe system requirements for installing the messenger on the Apple phone will increase in a few months.
Until now it was enough to use an iPhone with iOS 12 to install WhatsApp. From February 24, 2025, the messenger will require at least iOS 14.1. Specifically, this means that the app can no longer be installed on the following three iPhone models:

The update to iOS 12.5.6 is the last update for all three models. Newer iPhone models are still supported by WhatsApp, but may first have to be updated to iOS 14.1 or higher before you can continue to use the messenger. Anyone who uses WhatsApp on one of the three models still has a few months to buy a new cell phone.
Why does WhatsApp increase system requirements? From time to time, the messenger increases the requirements because otherwise some features would no longer be available on older devices. Furthermore, this is intended to ensure the security of your chats. By the way, nothing changes for Android phones. Android 5.0 remains a prerequisite for installation here.
