Merdeka.com – Some time ago, the WhatsApp messaging application tested a feature that could allow users to mute the volume or mute a video, before sharing it with other users.
Quoting XDA Developer via Tekno Liputan6.com, this feature is already in the WhatsApp beta update with number 2.21.3.13.
Users who use this latest beta version can mute videos by tapping the toggle or setting the volume available when editing videos before sharing them with other contacts.
This feature was first discovered by WABetaInfo. Keep in mind, the ability to disable sound in videos before sharing with other users is already on Instagram Stories.
Basically, the features that WhatsApp tested in this beta program are similar to those of Instagram Stories. Later this feature will be available to all users.
Previously in November 2020, this feature was also seen in the beta version. However, it seems that this feature is being brought back for users to try out in the latest beta version.
Now, WhatsApp is indeed a bit slow in releasing new features. However, the company recently added an extra layer of security for users logged into WhatsApp Web and desktop applications.
Users who want to enter WhatsApp Web on their PC or laptop can approve login requests using fingerprints or face recognition on their respective smartphones. This layer of security replaces QR Code scanning.
