WhatsApp comes with a new function: you can set that you want a message to disappear automatically after seven days. The rollout will start on November 5 and the option will be available to everyone at the end of the month.<!– –>
Making a text message, photo or video automatically disappear after seven days: it can be useful for some … The function is automatically turned off, but if you turn it on, these messages (including any unread messages) will be deleted after that period of time. WhatsApp reports that.
Disappearing messages
You can set the disappearing messages in individual chats as well as for group conversations. In a group conversation, only the administrator of the group can set this up. In a personal conversation it only works if the other person has the option turned on.<!– –>
The app warns that the recipient of messages can forward them after receiving them or keep an image of them. So there is no guarantee that a message will disappear completely.
More new WhatsApp features
This week it was also announced that WhatsApp will make it easier for users to delete multiple photos and videos at once. This gives the opportunity to better manage your phone’s storage space.
In the new storage menu, you will get suggestions for which files to delete to free up memory. These are, for example, videos that have been forwarded in many groups, or all files larger than 5 megabytes. You can then delete them all individually or at once.
