The popular chat application WhatsApp is constantly trying to improve its functions and, above all, to secure the data and information of its users. That’s why the developers came up with a new feature that will make sensitive conversations completely safe.
At the end of November, Meta came up with a new way for users to protect their sensitive chats on WhatsApp. Thanks to the function of the so-called secret code, nobody really gets into them anymore.
“If someone gets access to your phone, or if you share your phone with someone, they won’t be able to find sensitive conversations,” WhatsApp informed on its blog.
The passcode feature will allow people to set a unique password that is different from the one a person uses to unlock their device. It will even be possible to hide the folder with locked chats in the list of chats.
“It will be possible to search for them only after entering a secret code in the search field. If you do not want to hide them, you can of course leave them displayed in the list of chats. When you want to lock a new chat, it will no longer be necessary to go to the settings. You can lock the chat with a long press,” the experts explained .
According to the information of the portal CNET the new feature should be available globally in the coming months. “We still want to add new features to chat locking to ensure even better protection of people’s privacy,” the experts added. At the beginning of this year, the company already introduced a similar “chat locking” function.
