Meta group messaging has made a commitment to the European Union for more transparency on updates to its terms of use. It confirmed that it does not share its users’ personal data for advertising purposes, according to a Commission statement. A dialogue procedure had been initiated between the authorities of the European Union and this subsidiary of the group of Mark Zuckerberg, following a complaint from the European Bureau of Consumers’ Unions (Beuc) in 2021, in the history of change controversial about its terms of use. Note that this “commitment” comes a few days after the Commission and Parliament banned TikTok to their respective employees for security reasons.
