Whatsapp collects data even when you are not using the service

Just a few days ago Whatsapp announced in a blog entry that they have exceeded the limit of two billion users – Business Insider reported. The short message service is thus extending its leadership to the competition.

Nevertheless, many users choose not to Facebook to use the associated service because they want to protect their personal data.

But even if you delete your Facebook account and ban Whatsapp from your smartphone, Messenger can still access a lot of your data.

Whatsapp: Data collection continues even without an account

To get access to your data, Whatsapp does not need hidden back doors, but only accesses the digital phone books of your contacts.

Has your best friend saved your birthday, your place of residence, your email address, your telephone number (s), the names and data of your family, your website, your Twitter name and various other data under your name and grants access to Whatsapp to the phone book, the messenger also reads all this data.

So if you really want to make sure that Whatsapp and Facebook know as little about you as possible, you have to tell all of your contacts to delete your data from their phones that goes beyond what is absolutely necessary.
