A new WhatsApp chain letter unsettles users of the messenger. How Mimika reported, it claims that WhatsApp and Facebook will be “shut down tomorrow”.
What could initially shock some users turns out to be dizziness. Because after just a few lines it becomes clear that this is a joke. Even if it misses its target.

Chain letter: WhatsApp and Facebook offline?
So it says in the chain letter:
“Whatsapp and Facebook will go completely offline tomorrow.
The providers are currently testing the effects on the population. Voice messages and image downloads have already been taken offline!
The army, emergency services and fire brigade are ready to protect the neglected and apathetic wandering, mostly young people, from stupid things and try to teach people how to communicate again.
A simple “hello” was unthinkable for most people. A massive influx to the local postal centers has even been observed. Many employees showed the mid-20s how to put SMS and WhatsApp on paper.
The Greens spokeswoman “Birte Birkenstock” said: There have been cases of helplessness, but demos can be organized on Fridays even without Facebook and Whatsapp.
A text has already been written and sent. The event is planned for 2025. By then, all participants should have been notified. The ink and paper share price is currently experiencing a new spring. We’ll keep you up to date….”

Other versions of the chain letter in circulation
In some versions of the WhatsApp chain letter, the invented Greens spokeswoman is replaced by Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock in order to create more credibility.
For both versions, however, it is clear that they are fakes. The problem with the chain letter is that the satire is neither funny nor recognized by some users. Accordingly, this text is spreading rapidly.
If you receive chain letters of any kind on WhatsApp, do not forward them. The operators of the messenger count this as a violation of the guidelines of the app. In the worst case, your WhatsApp account could be blocked.
