TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – WhatsApp Business got a new method to view account status updates. A new report from WhatsApp’s feature tracker, WABetaInfo, explains that users can view business account status updates by tapping on the profile picture on the ‘business info’ page.
The option is currently being released to beta testers and is expected rolled out to wide users in a future update. This feature was discovered in WhatsApp code 2.21.17.5 a few months ago and was reportedly not available to any users—including stable or beta testers—at the time.
According to WABetaInfo, this update will give users two options, view profile photo and view status. “The Facebook-made app will retain the old method of seeing where status updates are visible in the status tab,” said WABetaInfo, Monday, October 25, 2021.
Earlier, earlier this month, WhatsApp Business account holders received another feature called ‘Collections’ which allows them to better organize their catalogs and group items into categories. Furthermore, WhatsApp is reportedly adding a new control bar in video mode picture-in-picture.
The control bar will allow WhatsApp Business users to quickly pause/resume video or open/close full screen mode. This feature is now only for videos from certain platforms.
