Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – In a matter of days, WhatsApp services were no longer available on a number of cellphones. This step was taken by WhatsApp because they are currently updating features and systems interface.

WhatsApp has indeed made a number of updates by presenting interesting features that have improved the user experience. For example, you now have the ability to edit messages, even have two WhatsApp accounts on one device.

These various updates may have an impact on some cellphone users, especially older cellphones. One of them can no longer be accessed.

Starting October 24, 2023, the WhatsApp application will be blocked on a number of Android devices running an operating system (OS) older than Android 5.0.

So, if you are still using an older phone with an older operating system, you will no longer be able to use WhatsApp or access your private and group chats.

“Starting October 24 2023, we will only support Android OS version 5.0 or newer. We regularly stop supporting older operating systems so we can focus on supporting the latest operating systems,” WhatsApp wrote in its official statement, quoted on Saturday (21/10 /2023).

If you want to make sure your Android device is running the latest operating system and can still use WhatsApp after October 24 2023, you can do the following steps:

Open Settings/Settings on your device. Choose About Phone/About Phone. Check software information. If your cellphone says it uses the Android operating system version 5.0 or later, your cellphone will not be blocked by WhatsApp.
