WhatsApp Beta Testing Ongoing for Message Editing Feature with Time Limit

When replying to the message, I wrote “OK” as “PK” by mistake. This joke has appeared on the Internet and in movies. I don’t want to cause embarrassment or misunderstanding. Usually, we will delete the message as soon as possible, and then send the correct content. WhatsApp is said to be developing a new feature that allows users to make changes within a specified time without deleting messages like Telegram.

Beta testing

The website WABetaInfo recently reported that some WhatsApp users using the 2.23.10.13 Beta version recently got the opportunity to test the WhatsApp message editing function, which can be used for 1-to-1 calls or group calls. According to the screenshot uploaded by WABetaInfo, the user long presses the sent message, and then clicks “…” in the upper right corner of the screen to see the Edit option in the menu, and the user can edit the sent content.

15 minutes after limit send

WABetaInfo said that in the Beta version, WhatsApp did not limit the number of times users can edit a message, but it restricted editing to be completed within 15 minutes after the message was sent. This is believed to be that WhatsApp does not want to affect the integrity and integrity of the conversation. Although the user can edit the sent message, the receiving party will also see the message as edited (Edited), but will not see the version before editing. It is temporarily unknown when the message editing function will be launched, or whether it will be officially launched at the end.
