WhatsApp Beta for iOS Gets Messages Disappearing Feature

SAN FRANCISCO, iNews.id – Facebook made its debut by removing WhatsApp media and texts on iOS with a new beta release. If you sign up for beta version 2.21.140.9 on Testflight, you can post self-destructing photos and videos after viewing and closing.

Users with access to the view once feature will see a special button that resembles a time setting in the text input field, as shown in the WABetaInfo screenshot.

Unlike lost WhatsApp messages, which are deleted after 7 days, photos and videos sent using view once mode will disappear immediately after you close them. Submitters will be notified when their media has been viewed.

As WABetaInfo notes, there’s nothing to stop users from taking media screenshots and you won’t be notified if the recipient has done so. As the recipient, you also cannot block the sender from being notified after opening the message.
