Claudia Sheinbaumhead of the government of Mexico City, has declared that she will marry her boyfriend, the physicist Jesus Maria Tarriba.
In a conversation with host Martha Debayle on Wednesday, Sheinbaum has opened up about the beginning of her relationship with Tarriba and confessed that they live together and plan to get married.
“You live toghether?” asked the driver, to which she replied: “Yes and we are getting married. We’ve already decided, we’ve both decided (…) It’s something nice and don’t think it’s a big party or anything”.
What is the love story between Sheinbaum and Tarriba?
In interview for the eighththe head of government recounted some details about his courtship with the physicist Jesús María Tarriba, with whom he met again more than 30 years later.
They both studied physics, they had been dating for a little over a year, but fate separated them, and the brunette married another.
Their meeting happened when Sheinbaum headed the Tlalpan delegation and found the profile of Facebook from her then ex-boyfriend.
”When you write to each other you realize that there are so many things in common like then. This coincidence where he was divorced, I was divorced. He had stopped working in Spain and I was in the Tlalpan delegation and he came to see me”, explained the head of government.
In the interview, the physicist said he “was left wondering what happened to Sheinbaum.”
She accepted that in the first moment of their relationship, when they were students, he neglected her and later regretted it.
Both have children from their first marriages. Sheinbaum assured that he has a very close relationship with their families.
”With Jesus we are a family. We’ll see if we get married or not,” the head of government said in the March 2022 interview.
For his part, Tarriba assured that marriage did not matter to him.
