Hürrem’s chances would be zero.
The creators of historical films often embellish reality to make the picture more juicy and modern. The sensational Turkish hit “The Magnificent Century” was no exception.
The authors of the series did not hide the fact that their goal was to create an adaptation of that era, and not a documentary. That is why the women in the “Magnificent Age” are shown completely different from what they really were.
The real sultan appreciated curvy shapes and roundness in ladies. Also held in high esteem were thick fused eyebrows. However, in the series, almost all women are slender and well-groomed, like top models from gloss. Take, for example, Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska or girl concubines. But in those days, such thinness was considered a sign of illness, so the serial versions would not have had any chance to win the heart of the Sultan.
However, the modern era dictates a trend for impeccable beauties. There is no doubt that if the directors showed the girls with full and eyebrows, then rotten tomatoes would fly at them from disgruntled viewers who are accustomed to glossy beauty.
