A 27-year-old man is said to be allergic to his own sperm. Whenever he ejaculates, the man experiences flu-like symptoms.
It is known that the nameless man suffered from allergies from the age of 18. He complains of coughing, runny nose, sneezing and a rash like itchy arms every time he has an orgasm.
It also caused the lymph nodes in her face and neck to swell. The condition worsened when she reached her climax.

“Due to the deplorable condition of her symptoms, she actively avoids sexual activity or other romantic relationships,” said the research team, quoted by the Daily Mail, Wednesday (10/12/2022).
Consult a doctor
After experiencing the condition, he visited many doctors including urologists, ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists, infectious disease experts.
During the exam, his testicles were x-rayed, his sperm and hormones were also analyzed. However, all the results were normal. He was also given antibiotics, but without success.
Other findings of the case
So far, experts have found nearly 60 cases of men with a condition known as post-orgasmic disease syndrome (POIS). According to them, the condition is an allergic or autoimmune reaction to the sperm itself.
Symptoms that appear include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sneeze
- Muscle weakness
- Conversation problem
- Impaired concentration and memory
According to doctors, the condition or symptoms that appear may continue for two days or a week after ejaculation.
“But, because few people are aware of the condition, there may be more people living with it (POIS),” said researcher Andrew Shanholtzer of the William Beaumont School of Medicine at Oakland University in the United States. Daily mailWednesday (12/10/2022).
