Users on social media circulated widely a frightening video clip of a hideous man with one eye and terrifying facial features, who they said was by the Egyptian artist, Ramez Jalal, while preparing for his program for the new Ramadan season.
Many commented that the video shows Jalal changing his features and disguising himself as a frightening character in a promotional advertisement for his next program.
The clip showed one of them changing the features of another person to look terrifying, using a mask and advanced makeup techniques.
Comments also indicated that the person appearing in the video is Ramez Jalal, and the clip was published coinciding with Jalal’s preparation for his expected work in Ramadan.
However, it later became clear that the viral video is in fact only a clip depicting the work of an American artist specializing in make-up.
The research showed that it spread last year, and the first to be circulated was an account on the “Tik Tok” platform bearing the actor’s name.
After cutting the video into still scenes, according to “Agence France Presse”, the search did not lead to the original version of it, but rather showed, using key words in English such as: makeup, mask, Cyclops (a one-eyed mythical figure), to the original version of the video published on an account An American artist specializing in this type of makeup in 2022.
