How do you miss an armpit? And can you actually get up with the wrong wine? We clarify this and more in the May issue of #Ohrenschmaus: News from the Graz music scene.
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, Jan Böhmermann has to make satire about the ÖVP in Germany because we can’t do it in Austria and vaccinated people can expect the event summer of their lives. My longing for concerts is now on the same level “Staring at people with guitars on park benches”. So please come with the vaccination so that we don’t only have outdoor events for retirees in summer.
SALÒ
Love in times of … you know, it’s not easy. We may all be gutted and jaded by digital addiction – but they are new single from SALÒ we can feel somehow. In “Analog” he complains dryly and wistfully of his suffering on the subject of a lack of physical contact and pays homage to all possible anatomical conditions. The video was blown to us yesterday on YouTube as fresh as a Graz city park breeze.
Anna Heimrath
After “the Voice of Germany” two years ago was the 24-year-old from Graz until recently in the current season “Starmania” to see and hear. There she not only shone with Voice and versatility, but also with eloquence and joke. The many newly won fans were especially delighted that Anna’s way of speaking and singing created “images” in her head. Great performances and obviously having fun doing what brought the “barista / musician” according to the sedcard deservedly to the final shows. In Graz she will now hardly be able to save herself from inquiries.
Pandora’s little sister
The clock tower doesn’t cast a long shadow anyway and so we can put on a little color on the roofs of Graz with music. With “the songs” got us Pandora’s little sister a remarkable well-presented pandemic album bestowed, now the video for the latest release “Keine Bläser” is here. A bit of grantln, a bit of joy, a bit of dancing, a bit of Graz. And for sure champagne in front of the microphone.
Rebecca Karpen
„Parental Warning – Explicit Lyrics“ initially give an idea of the desert – one hears one another Rebecca Karpens Corona-Song on, but you can find it relatively fast, more enchanting and realistic than warning. The Graz native from New York City has one with her music unsafe phase during the pandemic processed. “… This news came around the time NYC, where I come from and then lived, was totally cordoned off and I learned that I was going to do my college education online. I was forced into isolation until my friend got her results so as not to infect my family. So I processed them through music. A year later the EP is ready and I’m incredibly proud of it. ” Rightly so!
Musikcafe Prenner
In the meantime one can confidently sum up that the long dark time full of privation at least did not scare away the musical muse. Those who recently were guests on ORF Musikcafe Prenner lists in your new single “Tanzen” sometimes bravely take on all that is missing in them right now and thus speak to many from the soul. “I want to go out for a drink with all my friends. Laugh, sing, cry and miss the time with them. The bottom line is, on the whole, I just want to dance. ” The ORF even titled the number with “The good mood song for next summer”.
Greyshadow
Which is pretty nice from a couple of weeks ago Greyshadow has been released. If the video initially suggests violent scenes due to the thumbnail, one finds it instead the soft, haunting Brit Synthy-Dream-Pop / Indie by Gregor Wessely, who lives in Graz. With “The Weight” the musician has succeeded in creating an ideal, thought-lost car driving sound with a melancholy touch. Tested for you.
Dyfus
Another submission arrived recently and the news promised “Small but nice from Graz”. Dyfus makes Rap and HipHop in Graz and Vienna and obviously has a lot of gaude with it. For everyone who “got up with the wrong wine” today – maybe a little Prosetschi will work better. Granted.
