Next April 8, the Solar Eclipse 2024 will take place, and on this occasion Mexico will be the protagonist for a particular reason.

According to Gregory Schmidt, scientist at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Mazatlán, Sinaloa will be the best place in the world to witness the 2024 Solar Eclipse and stated that this event “will not be repeated in this area until “in 300 years.”

For his part, the general director of the AEM, Salvador Landeros Ayala, explained that “Mexico will be in the eyes of the world,” because the port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, was chosen by NASA as the best geographical point to settle and document the total solar eclipse

The meteored site shared data on what the weather will be like on Monday, April 8 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa and other states of the Mexican Republic.

  • Mazatlán: It is expected that at 9:51 a.m. the weather in Sinaloa will be 20° Celsius with “clouds and clearings.” Later, at 11:00 a.m. the temperature will increase to 23° Celsius.
  • CDMX: In Mexico City, a sunny day is expected at 10:51 a.m., the time when the astronomical event will begin, with a temperature of 21° Celsius with clear skies. In addition to this, at 12:00 p.m., the sky will present “clouds and clearings” and the thermometer will read 28° Celsius.
  • Monterrey, Nuevo León: In Monterrey, the Solar Eclipse will begin at 11:04 a.m., where the weather will have a temperature of 24° Celsius with “clouds and clearings.” Later, at 12:00 p.m., the sky will be completely clear with a temperature of 29° Celsius.
  • Mexicali, Baja California: Finally, the astronomical event can be observed in said entity starting at 9:28 a.m., with a temperature of 14° Celsius and in the sky there will be “clouds and clearings.”

Professor Xavier Marie Jubier, member of the International Astronomical Union, shared a table, indicating the time at which it will get dark in each state of the Mexican territory.
