What will happen to stimulus checks in 2024?

There are several North American states that have sent economic stimulus checks to their most needy residents during 2023. However, the federal government has not delivered a new stimulus check for two years.Let us remember that the stimulus checks were initiated as a measure to help Americans financially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, even though the pandemic has ended, the financial situation of thousands of Americans is not looking in the best light.

Therefore, many people expect alternatives from the United States government and their local governments. Furthermore, inflation continues, and North American residents have had to learn to deal with it.

What would happen in 2024?

It is highly unlikely that the federal government will send a new stimulus check. If this were the case and one was sent, it would be the fourth stimulus check in addition to the three that were given due to the pandemic.

The truth is that experts rate the chances of a new stimulus check being sent as “very low.” This would be above all because it would contribute to increasing the country’s current debt and would run the risk of the system collapsing.

The good news here is that there are possibilities for states to distribute help to those taxpayers who file their taxes. The way this would occur is through tax refunds or in the form of Guaranteed Income Plans.

The procedure is clear: said budget is obtained from the different surpluses registered in the various local governments.

From there the decision is made to distribute the money to help low-income residents. An example of this is Alaska, where Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) money can be requested.

There is also the case of Harris County, in Texas, where a monthly program of $500.00 USD will be granted. This will be given to specific residents over a period of 18 months.

Additionally, the Washington Working Families Tax Credit is another payment that can be requested, which would provide up to $1,200.00 USD to qualifying families.
