The mayor of the city, Bill de Blasio, extended the mandate of immunization against the coronavirus for all municipal employees of New York, who will have until October 29 to get the first dose. Those who do not get vaccinated will be put on leave without pay, so the city could be left without some basic services such as ambulances and an aqueduct.
