The actor was rescued from a “traumatic injury” Sunday morning and airlifted to a hospital, local sheriff’s departments said in a statement, adding he was the only one involved in the crash.
“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition following a weather incident while clearing snow,” one of his agents told The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline on Sunday.
“His family is with him and he’s very well taken care of,” she added.
According to the specialized site TMZ, citing witnesses, the actor was driving a snow groomer to clear the access road to his home, in the mountains between California and Nevada, when the car rolled over his leg.
Previous publications on his social networks showed him driving this impressive device, comparable to those used by ski resorts to prepare the slopes.
He lost a lot of blood and a nearby doctor gave him a tourniquet before help arrived, according to TMZ.
The region that has been subject to heavy snowfall in recent weeks.
Jeremy Renner had started out as an actor in independent cinema before taking off in Hollywood in a number of blockbuster films.
He made himself known to the general public in 2010 playing an American soldier in “Deminers”, a difficult role for which he was nominated for an Oscar for best actor. He was also nominated for an Oscar for Ben Affleck’s “The Town”.
But playing Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye (Hawkeye in English) in Marvel Studios’ blockbuster Avengers, one of the biggest global blockbusters in cinematic history, Jeremy Renner had taken his stadium fame to a new level.
He also appeared in a Disney+ series centered around his character Hawkeye which released in November.
