Veil of mystery covers the thousands of reports of “mysterious” drone sightings on USAespecially in New Jersey and the Eastern States. The conspiracy theories give and take, while citizens record and post daily hundreds video from the night sky and mysterious flying objects, as there have even been calls for military intervention.
“This is not the plot of the movie ‘War of the Worlds’, but the result of numerous unidentified drone sightings on the East Coast in recent weeks. They have been spotted over neighborhoods, restricted areas and critical infrastructure,” notes it CNN in his analysis.
“The hundreds of reports have put intense pressure on federal agencies to provide more information about the planes, while government officials have urged calm, stressing that there is no evidence to suggest they pose a threat to public safety.

Where were the mysterious drones seen?
The drones in question have been reported in at least six states: New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Virginia.
The viewings started on November 18 near Morris County, New Jersey, according to Fed Civil Aviation Service. The Republican congressman Pol Canitra told CNN’s Sarah Schindner that drone sightings have been reported every night since then. Concerned residents have often reported that they saw drones hovering overhead, sometimes traveling in groups.
Concerns escalated after spotting drones near Picatinny Arsenal, a US military research facilityand above the president-elect’s golf course Donald Trump in Bedminster, according to officials and state lawmakers. The sightings prompted the FAA to issue temporary flight restrictions over these properties.
“Several instances of unidentified drones entering airspace” were also reported over the Naval station Earlea US Navy base south of Middletown, although no immediate threats were identified.
The Democratic senator Anti Kim from New Jersey posted video to his X account showing what appeared to be a cluster of drones over Round Valley Reservoir Thursday night. But on Saturday, he posted on X that most of the aircraft he initially thought were drones were “almost certainly airplanes.”
All the while, according to CNN, there have been closed-door briefings to local officials. The drones in question appear to fly in a coordinated pattern and can stay in flight for up to six hours, according to its mayor Montvale, Mike Gasali.
OR New York State Police said Friday afternoon in a post on X that it had received “multiple reports of drone sightings in the past 24 hours” and that it was investigating the reports. “We have no evidence at this time that any of the reported sightings pose a threat to public safety.”
The president of the Staten Island district Vito Fossella said drones, which often fly at night, have been spotted hovering over critical infrastructurelike the Port Liberty of New York and the Fort Wadsworthone of the oldest military installations in the country.

What’s up with the planes
The FBI and DHS consider most of the drone sightings to be cases of “misidentification,” with citizens mistaking small, legally operating manned aircraft for drones.
Some of the sightings may also involve commercial drones, according to Mayorkas.
“We are not aware of any threat or malicious activity. If we learn of any cause for concern, we will be transparent in our communication about it,” he added.
Some of the more recent sightings may be due to attempts by citizens flying their own drones as the phenomena gain more news coverage, former FBI Supervising Special Agent in Charge told CNN on Friday Vol Adams. He said there are often innocent explanations for the sightings.
“I can tell you from my first-hand experience conducting operations for the FBI, as well as investigations into suspected drone sightings of critical infrastructure, that it was quite common for them to be misidentified as drones, manned aircraft, and even satellites in low earth orbit at night’ Adams stated.
His official FBI noted in a media briefing that the sightings were largely manned aircraft mistaken for drones. The official noted that similar flight approach patterns from nearby airports matched the visual observations that were mentioned.
The FBI official stated that the line information has received 5,000 referencesbut less than 100 have led to evidence “deemed worthy of further research activity”. No evidence has been found to support “large scale UFO activity”.
There was one “slight overreaction” to areports, the FBI official said. Still, “we cannot ignore the sightings that have occurred and we are as concerned about them as everyone else,” the official added.
An official of his Ministry of Defensehowever, was less certain about the nature of the apparitions.

The official added that specially trained security personnel has reported drone sightings in the Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Station Earle, both in New Jersey. The origin points and operators have not been identifiedthe official said.
“There is no absolute truth in this,” his deputy spokeswoman said Wednesday Pentagon Sabrina Singh. “There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States, and there is no so-called mother ship launching drones at the United States.”
The FBI is leading the investigation into the sightings along with the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, while the US Coast Guard is evaluating jurisdictional responses.
On Sunday, the senator from Minnesota, Amy Klobucharsaid the Biden administration needs to be more transparent about the reported sightings. “First, we need a briefing for the members of the Senate to understand what’s going on here,” the Minnesota Democrat said during an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “Second, we need more transparency.”
Despite assurances from federal officials that drones pose no threat to public safety, the mayor of Bellevillein New Jersey, Michael Mellam, stated that has been instructed that police should call the county fire marshal and local fire departments should wear hazmat suits if they encounter a downed drone.

“Demolition is not a solution”

The source noted that the government has various strategies that can be deployed if a drone poses an immediate threat, but so far the mystery flights have not been considered a threat.
