Trisha Yearwood: A Closer Look at the Country Star’s Fitness Journey
Country music icon Trisha Yearwood is known for her powerful voice and heartfelt lyrics, but lately, she’s also been turning heads with her radiant glow and fit physique. As she prepares to co-host ABC’s CMA Country Christmas special with fellow singer Amy Grant, fans can’t help but admire her healthy look.
Yearwood, 60, has always maintained a healthy lifestyle, but she’s transformed her approach to health and wellness over the years. She’s been open about her weight loss journey, revealing the strategies that helped her shed pounds and cultivate a more positive relationship with her body.
"I fell in love with it," she confessed about discovering Zumba, an intense dance fitness class that she credits for building strength and boosting her energy. Yearwood torches calories three times a week with these exhilarating classes, often choosing evening sessions to avoid expansive downtime before bedtime.
Fueling her active lifestyle, Yearwood embraces a "hardcore and boring" diet, prioritizing meals packed with lean protein and fresh produce.
"I made [my diet] simple because I knew I wouldn’t stay on it unless I saw results fast," she shared.
Her go-to essentials include cabbage, carrots, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, apples, grapefruit, and grilled chicken. She typically ditches refined grains, opting for whole and unprocessed foods whenever possible.
Her commitment to health isn’t purely physical; it’s deeply personal. A life-changing volunteer trip with Habitat for Humanity to Haiti in 2012 ignited a spark within her. Witnessing the hardships faced by the locals opened her eyes to the preciousness of health and prompted her to prioritize her well-being.
A Loving Support System
Throughout her journey, Trisha has found unwavering support in her husband, country music legend Garth Brooks.
"He never made me feel bad about my weight," Yearwood shared, recalling Brooks’ unwavering love and acceptance. "He always told me I was beautiful. He says, ‘I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. I love you at this weight, and the only other weight I love you at is whatever weight you are.’"
Brooks has also instilled in Yearwood the importance of positive self-talk. He encourages her to focus on feeling good rather than obsessing over the number on the scale. This approach resonates deeply with Trisha, empowering her to embrace both physical and mental well-being.
Yearwood’s story reminds us that true wellness comes from within. By focusing on nourishing your body with healthy food, engaging in enjoyable physical activity, and surrounding yourself with loving support, you can achieve your goals and radiate confidence, just like Trisha Yearwood.
