If we didn’t get a single one last year, this year Apple has really taken off in its tablet portfolio. It came with its complete rejuvenation, that is, except for one model. So, what to expect from the entry-level 11th generation iPad?
In the spring, it was the iPad Pros in which Apple first introduced the M4 chip, which Mac computers have only just received. With them there were also new iPad Airs with the M2 chip, while here Apple introduced a model with a larger 13″ screen in this range of tablets. Even before the new computers there was also an iPad 6th generation mini featuring the A17 Pro chip And to some extent, this company’s smallest tablet shows what we can really expect from the entry-level 11th generation iPad.
It’s the 10th generation iPad that serves as the entry device into Apple’s tablet world. But the company released it in fall 2022, and with the now 14-year-old A4 Bionic chip. He would certainly like to recharge his batteries, which will probably happen in the spring of next year. But it is true that the company has at least made it cheaper, which doesn’t happen very often. You can currently find it in Apple Buy in the online store from 9,990 CZK.

The cheapest device with Apple Intelligence?
We know it’s not so bad for us, because who knows what it will be like next year when they arrive in the EU in April Apple Intelligence. But it’s certainly a big deal for the company, as well as everyone else who will be able to take full advantage of Apple’s AI. If we talk about the mobile platform (iOS, iPadOS), the position of the cheapest device currently belongs to the iPad mini (A17 Pro), which starts at a price of 15,490 CZK (from the new Mac wallet, it’s the Mac mini, starting at 17,490 CZK).
However, this is expected to change with the launch of the 11th generation iPad, as it is very likely that it will run on the same chip, the A17 Pro, while it is quite possible that the upcoming 4th generation iPhone SE also gets it. But it’s expected to cost a few thousand more, so the iPad 11 will not only be the cheapest iPad, but also the cheapest new product that will offer Apple Intelligence. Therefore, it also makes sense that it has 8 GB of RAM.

Cameras
There’s not much to expect here as there is virtually no pressure to improve. The front camera here is already the 12MPx one, and it is also on the wider side of the tablet and also offers a function such as centering the shot. Now iMacs or MacBook Pros are also available here. This is quite sufficient for the price category of the tablet, as is the rear one, which is 12 MPx and can also handle 4K video.
Connectivity
The iPad 11 will likely benefit from newer connectivity standards like Wi-Fi 6E (Wi-Fi 7 doesn’t even have the new mini) and Bluetooth 5.3. This would be a clear step forward from current Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It’s quite possible that we’ll also see new Apple Pencil Pro stands, although it’s true that Apple would need to give the iPad a coil for wireless charging, which could make the device unnecessarily expensive.
When will we wait?
It should be next year, and it would make sense for it to be in the spring, probably alongside the 4th generation iPhone SE. It doesn’t have to be in the form of a Keynote, but rather through press releases or something like that Apple now does on new Macs. After all, this is a core portfolio with smaller intergenerational additions. The big unknown is the price. It can be assumed that the 10th generation iPad will remain on offer at the current price of CZK 9,990, which is why the new product could be slightly more expensive. Halfway between the 10th generation and the new iPad mini, an amount around 13 thousand CZK would appear.
