What to do on May 1st in Turin: trips out among flowers and fabrics

TURIN. May 1st is Labor Day, a historic event that has a long tradition. To celebrate this anniversary, the idea for which was born in Paris in 1889 during a congress inspired by an event that took place in Chicago on May 1 three years earlier, it is possible to discover how the mastery of making and the love for their profession have led to the creation of extraordinary works.
The wizard of costumes
Starting with the one who was the “wizard” of costumes. Caramba, as Luigi Sapelli was universally known, born in Pinerolo in 1865 and died in Milan in 1936, was able to work miracles with fabric, creating theatrical costumes of incredible beauty. But he was more than just a costume designer. In fact, he made a real revolution as regards the profession of dress designer, who usually carried out what was suggested to him, restoring to that professional figure the authority of an interpreter who does not think of theatrical costume as a simple disguise, but rather to a peculiarity of the character that identifies him in the eyes of the public.
