6 solutions are available to you to allow your tablet to recharge.
If a tablet that is slow is obviously problematic and annoying for its user, there is a problem that is much more restrictive: the charge that no longer works. When your iPad runs out of battery, you plug it into its cable, and you see it’s not charging, there’s cause for concern.
Fortunately, there are several solutions to recover a normal recharge cycle. As it is known 9To5Macthere are 6 details that need to be checked before you actually start panicking and contacting Apple Support.
First of all, it is important to monitor the ambient temperature in which the iPad is located. Ideally, Apple recommends keeping your tablet in a temperature range between 0 and 35°C. Below, the iPad will be too cold, while it will be overheated in higher temperatures.
If your iPad is in peak condition, but still not charging, look at the cable side. Flip the Lightning or USB-C cable the other way around to check that the pins on one side aren’t damaged, and plug the adapter into a working wall outlet. You should see a reaction on the iPad within 5-10 minutes.
This is still not the case? So try another cable, preferably Apple-certified, that you know will work with other devices.
Hardware problem?
If your iPad still won’t charge, head to its charging port. Small debris and lint can easily get lodged in the bottom of a Lightning port. Insert a toothpick into it to remove most of the dirt, then try again. USB-C ports are less prone to this little problem.
Finally, do not hesitate to perform a force restart, in case it is a software problem. For iPads with a Home button, press and hold the Home button and the top button until the Apple logo appears. On an iPad without a Home button, quickly press the volume + button, then the volume – and finally press and hold the top button until the apple appears.
