The Grand Prix of São Paulo is scheduled for tonight. The nineteenth round of the Formula 1 world championship again promises to offer the necessary spectacle. At 6:00 PM Dutch time we go wild at Interlagos.
The Grand Prix of São Paulo will be held at the famous Autódromo José Carlos Pace. Due to financial problems, the race this year will be held under the name of São Paulo, instead of the usual Brazilian Grand Prix. The circuit was named in 1985 after the Brazilian Carlos Pace, who won his only Formula 1 victory on this circuit in 1975 and died in a plane crash in 1977. Normally there are 71 laps on the 4.309 kilometer circuit. With the legendary ‘S’ do Senna in Turn 1, the circuit has one of the most beautiful corners on the calendar.

On Friday after qualifying, reports came out fairly quickly about a suspected illegal Hamilton rear wing. The stewards took a long time to investigate his car, but in the end his qualifying times were cancelled. He therefore started the sprint race from P20, but with a catch-up race from the book, he managed to cut through the butter like a hot knife in relation to the field. He finished fifth and can start from P10 with his engine change on Sunday. Pole position was for Bottas, he finished ahead of Verstappen and Carlos Sainz.
