What time do polling stations close in states that can decide the American elections? – Present

It will be a night and a long dawn for those who are willing to follow the closing of the ballot box in the United States and the projections that will be presented in the coming hours. In elections with a high degree of unpredictability, accentuated by the fact that the latter were translated into the surprise that was the victory of Donald Trump, there are, however, a set of states that are particularly relevant to the definition of the victory scenario of one or another candidate.

That is why it is important to know the closing time of the ballot boxes of at least 10 fundamental states.

– At 00:00 from mainland Portugal close the polls in Georgia (16 Great Voters).

– At 00:30 close in Ohio (18 major voters) and North Carolina (15 major voters).

– AT 01h00 close in Florida (29 Great Voters) and Pennsylvania (20 Great Voters).

– At 02h00 close in Michigan (16 major voters), Wisconsin (10 major voters), Texas (38 major voters) and Arizona (11 major voters).

– And finally, Iowa (6 Great Voters) only closes the polls at 03h00 morning in mainland Portugal.

There are states that traditionally vote for Democrats and others that classically cast their votes for Republican candidates. However, there are also the so-called “battleground states” (or “battlegrounds”), whose voting direction fluctuates between elections: sometimes it tends to one side, sometimes it tends to the other.

Taking into account the electoral system method , in which each state votes en bloc on the chosen candidate, this topic is of particular interest, insofar as the votes of one state for one side can change the national landscape – whether for Republicans or Democrats.

You can find out more here on the states to which we should be particularly alert on this night of American elections.
