Thomas Tuchel moved as usual on the touchline on Tuesday night when Chelsea played the semi-final of the Champions League with Real Madrid.
The blues is in a way the surprise package of this season’s competition.
When the round of 16 draw took place last December, Chelsea could be seen as a slight underdog against Atlético de Madrid to reach the quarter-finals due to Diego Simeone’s team in La Liga.
But in the two months between the round of 16 draw and the first leg, a lot changed at Stamford Bridge, with Tuchel replacing Frank Lampard and creating a new defensive determination in the team.
They continued to defeat the La Liga giants 3-0 on aggregate to advance to the quarterfinals as they faced FC Porto, the conquest of Juventus.
Goals from Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell gave Chelsea a comfortable lead in the first leg and moved them closer to securing a place in the semi-final before the second leg.
Despite losing the second leg 1-0 tonight, the Blues advanced and will face Real Madrid in two games for the right to compete for the richest prize in European football next month.
However, as evidenced by the sound of the UEFA TV touchline, uploaded to Chelsea Reddit Tuchel did not want his team to be satisfied earlier in the week.
In fact, the German can be heard shouting “Play louder” in a clear message to his players.
