What the world writes: Merkel’s calls Lukashenko divides Europe

After the second conversation between Merkel and Lukashenko, the Belarussian regime announced that Minsk and the European Union would start talks on the migrant crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border.

Polish President Duda did not hide his outrage – he said that Warsaw would not agree to any solution to the migration crisis on the border with Belarus, discussed or adopted without its participation.

The world press reacts differently to Merkel’s conversations with Lukashenko. Some said that the German Chancellor had “taken a step towards legitimizing Lukashenko” in this way, while others were pointing fingers at Poland’s own behavior during the crisis.

Some commentators see a lack of unity in the European Union, and some have raised the unexpected question – what if migrants like Belarus and want to stay there?
