For years, Kollegah was without a doubt one of the most popular rappers on the scene. The Alpha Music boss has been recognized by fans and fellow rappers alike for his business acumen, rap skills and humor. At the same time, he always showed closeness to the fans and took care of providing his listeners with music and video content almost continuously.
business practices
Since around 2018 and 2019, however, the “boss rapper” has also had a reputation for being involved in some dubious deals. The notorious “Alpha Offensive” or “Alpha Mentoring” are still examples of shady business models that were advertised with the name of Kollegah or by Kollegah itself. At the time, he publicly apologized for the Alpha Offensive and the horrendous prices of the event.
Last year, the 38-year-old caused another scandal. He takes the “Gönnjamin Genesis” NFT to market and sells digital artworks to his fans. And probably with the promise to continue to advertise the project and to increase the value of the NFTs. On June 1, last year, he “paused” the project and has apparently not provided an update since then.
“What is this shit”
Now Kollegah seems to be involved again in a blockchain project that looks a little dubious from the outside. A few days ago, an interview with the rapper appeared on the “KryptoGang” YouTube channel. There, Kollegah and the channel operator spoke for about 15 minutes about Bitcoin and Kollegah’s investments. Another person then joined and the interview became an uncredited promotional video for a crypto project.
Marvin California
Marvin California recently responded to the interview. He is a personal acquaintance or friend of Kollegah and accordingly has a positive attitude towards the rapper. Nevertheless, he shakes his head at some of the statements in the interview and wonders why Kollegah is taking part in such a promotional video.
For example, it is claimed that you can earn up to €2,000 a day with the Crypto shoe advertised in the video – provided you walk enough with it and complete challenges. In addition, the host of the interview turns out to be dubious when he misuses and even pronounces simple financial terms incorrectly. Another point of criticism from Marvin is that the video is advertised as a Kollegah interview, but the rapper only speaks twice in the last 16 minutes of the conversation and otherwise sits quietly next to it.
