what should those who do not have a doctor do in the place where they work

The Ministry of Health, with circular 8722 of 7 August 2020, has provided operational guidelines for the execution – on a voluntary basis – of serological tests (IgG and IgM) on teaching and non-teaching staff. What should those who do not have a doctor in their workplace do?

Starting from 24 August 2020 and in any case up to one week before the start of the teaching activities in the individual regions, the general practitioners will perform serological tests on the school staff included among their clients whose working status results from a substitutive declaration by notorious deed or by the dedicated application developed on the Health Card system.

The Local Health Authorities will ensure the GPs belonging to the same the supply of adequate personal protective equipment (gloves, disposable gowns and masks), in addition to those ordinarily provided. The client is required to make telephone contact with the Doctor or with his staff, in order to determine access to carry out the test by reservation, thus allowing compliance with the organization of the study in order to limit the risk contagion of the doctor, its staff and other patients.

In the case of school staff without GPs in the place of working domicile, the test will be carried out at the Prevention Department of the Local Health Authority of the working place of residence, subject to a substitutive declaration of notorious deed certifying the working status, according to the organizational methods defined in regional level.

We remind you that the tests are also guaranteed to staff who take up service after the beginning of the school year: they will be carried out before the actual entry into service.
