The director solved a natural anomaly in the history of cinema.
An important place in the soundtrack of the film “Office Romance” is occupied by the song “Nature has no bad weather”. Alisa Freindlich’s voice is heard in the tape against the backdrop of snowy Moscow. As it turned out, both these shots and the song appeared quite by accident. In 1976, snow in the central part of Russia fell unusually early, as early as September 25. In the courtyards and on the streets of the capital, the colorful foliage was covered with frost and snowdrifts.
Noticing such a striking contrast, Eldar Ryazanov canceled the scheduled shooting in the pavilion and, together with the operator, began to work “in nature”, wanting to capture the anomaly. The director rightly believed that such luck happens once in his life.
Furthermore, the cataclysm inspired Ryazanov to write the song. That famous verse “All weather is a blessing” he composed as he walked through an empty snowy forest. He quickly wrote poems, but was embarrassed to send them to composer Andrei Petrov under his own name. Instead, he told him that he had taken the text from a William Blake poem. The secret of paternity was only revealed later.
