And it is that already with franchises as big as Star Wars, Marvel and even The Simpsons, it is obvious that they have a lot on their hands to continue making money from all sides, both in series, movies, collectibles, amusement parks and thousands of things more.
The most curious thing of all is that, since Disney obviously seems to be seeking total control of the world, it has not seen one of the most important sectors of entertainment, one of which it has been part for years and that sector would be the of video games.
Disney could buy something soon
There is much speculation about what might be the next thing that Mickey Mouse’s house would buy to be able to integrate into video games in the not too distant future.
The problem is, it seems that Disney itself has abandoned the idea of continuing to make first-hand games with its own franchises, leaving it up to others to bring Mickey and other franchises to video games.

For those who do not know Tencent, it is one of the largest multinationals in the world, but the largest of all and, like the house of the mouse, it also owns many companies, including some from videogames.
So they would have to negotiate with a huge multinational to be able to buy some of their most profitable franchises and, honestly, I see it very complicated. Although crazier things have come to pass, without a doubt.
Other viable options
No, let’s not even think that Nintendo could be bought by Disney at any time, but since there are companies with great games that have already worked with the company’s franchises before, such as Square Enix, Capcom or EA. Well, here we have seen games with a great legacy from Capcom, games that exploit their most iconic Marvel characters with Square Enix and a company that almost lost the Star Wars license thanks to their bad practices.
All of the above are very good options that could be considered for purchase, although we can only speculate, as Disney’s plans have not been revealed regarding the hypothetical purchase of another company.
Although there is also the possibility of continuing to work as it does until now, but since the video game industry is so profitable, it would be strange to see that they do not try to take advantage of that first hand. So we are not betting that any new purchases will be announced in the near future, but we could bet that they could already be found in negotiations with a company.
