While Samsung will start hostilities in February, Apple should for its part unveil its novelties in the spring, during a highly anticipated Keynote. Here’s what you might see there.
Four expected products
According to serial leaker dylandkt, which has a reliability rate of 77.5% on Apple Track, the apple brand should logically continue its transition to M1 chips. This will be particularly the case for the mac mini, which will benefit from a new design, and an M1 Pro or M1 Max chip.
Apple would offer a faster processor (A15?), and especially the option Center Stage, which allows the front camera to follow people or zoom out to make more room for users during video conferences. Other possible new features: 5G compatibility, and a 12 MP wide-angle camera.
Before the announcement of the iPhone 14 lineup in September 2022, Apple could unveil a third-generation iPhone SE. As we announced last week, the device called “iPhone SE + 5G” would have a 4.7-inch LCD screen and would be a “simple” update of the iPhone SE released in 2020. Inside, an A15 Bionic chip would replace the current A13.
Finally, all eyes will be on the iMac, which could afford a new 27-inch version. Apple’s recently redesigned desktop computer (with its ultra-thin bezels) is currently only available in a 24-inch form factor. The arrival of a 27-inch model would be a way to attract professionals, who often need larger screens. But leaker dylandkt is not holding its breath. Production problems would indeed be expected.
In short, if the rumors are true, Apple should start the year with a bang. The date of the Keynote is not yet known, but journalist Mark Gurman is working on an announcement late March / early April.
