Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Celtic (in theory) are one of the record holders of 2021.
With Euro 2020 a year late and the season starting late, this year is going to be bad football.

What men’s soccer records could see a decline in 2021?
International goal record?
Portuguese pioneer Cristiano Ronaldo needs just seven goals to equal the world record of Iranian legend Ali Day.
Day was the player with the most goals in international men’s soccer with 109 goals between 1993 and 2006.
Ronaldo, 35, will have at least 11 competitive matches in 2021, and one friendly, to break the world record.
Chase several records at Euro 2020.
If he scores a goal, he is the top scorer in the history of the competition (he is currently nine years old with Michael Platini). He will be the first person to play in five European Championships (assuming he appears in one game).
The last two grants will include the six Karel Boforsky albums (in euros since 1980).
If Portugal reaches the final, Ronaldo could become the first player to play in three. A victory would lead to a European record of two European Championships.
Is the team the most successful player in the European Cup?
Ronaldo has also recorded his views at the club level. If he can help Juventus win the Champions League, he will join Real Madrid legend Francisco Gento in six European Cups.
This will place him alongside Clarence Seidorf, the only player to win the tournament with three different teams.
He could also become the first person to win the Golden Boot in Italy, Spain and England if he ends up being the top scorer in Serie A.
Most international hats?
Spanish defender Sergio Ramos, like his former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo, hopes to set an international world record in men’s soccer.
The 34-year-old broke Gianluigi Buffon’s European record in November and now has 178 caps.
He only needs seven caps to break the record set by Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Hassan, who played 184 times between 1995 and 2012.
Ramos has some rivals in this record: Omani midfielder Ahmed Mubarak, 35, 179, Kuwait striker Bader al-Muttawa, 35, 178, and not yet retired.
Ten in a row?
Three European teams are aiming to win their 10th consecutive league title this season.
Celtic, who is trying to become the Rangers by 16 points with three points. The first Scottish team to win 10 in a row.
Both Celtic (1966-1974) and Rangers (1989-1997) have achieved nine.
Juventus aims to end a decade of dominance in Italy, having won every Serie A title since 2011-12. None of the top five leagues in Europe have won 10 titles in a row.
Ludocorets is trying to double the tenth consecutive Bulgarian title. Refurbished in 2009 and controlled by the bank a year later, they had never played on the first plane before this race.
Although shared by the Lincoln Red Impes of Gibraltar (2003-2016) and the Scondo Rica of Latvia (1991-2004), who have won 14 consecutive league titles, those pages are slightly less than the European record.
Golden Boot Registry?
The most Premier League goals in a season are 34, managed by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer in 1993-94 and 1994-95 respectively.
Those two games took 40 or more games when there were more teams in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah’s 32 in 2017-18 is a record for 38 sports seasons.
Dominic Calvert-Levine, Jamie Verdy, Son Hyung-min, The 11, and the current highest-scoring Salah at 13, are keeping pace with that number.
The combined record for assists in a season is 20 – Theory Henry and Kevin de Bruyne last season in 2002-03.
Kane is already halfway through 10 assists in the first 14 games of the season.
More penalties in the Premier League in one season?
The record for most penalties awarded in a Premier League season was 2006-07, when 112 awards (and 87 points) were awarded.
This season, with the help of new handball laws and video assistant referees, that number is likely to be distorted.
So far, while most teams have played 14 or 15 games, 62 penalties have been taken and 51 runs have been scored.
Probably an unbreakable record …
Premier League points record
Manchester City’s record of 100 points in 2017-18 is not in jeopardy, to match Liverpool’s milestone, winning 23 of the remaining 24 games.
The title winners in the current format will finish with 84 points, the ninth lowest score combined with Manchester United’s inaugural Premier League title in 1992-93.
