What many children find boring, Maxim (10) wrapped in games … (Leuven)

A portion of the proceeds will go to the ‘Foundation against Cancer’ © Toy of the Year

Between toy clappers such as Playmobil and Nikko, ten-year-old Maxim also won a prize on Wednesday afternoon during the presentation of ‘Toy of the Year’. His maXimaal won in the Educational Toys category. “A game that I came up with to learn the times tables”, says the boy from Leuven. “A lot of kids find that boring, so I wanted to find a more fun way.”

Together with his dad and his godmother, who is a graphic designer, he released the game that has already been sold no less than 18,000 times. “You can now also buy it in the Netherlands,” says Maxim. “But it would be cool if we could get to America. We now also have a version with the sharing tables and are thinking about one with plus and minus.” What does the young man want to be when he grows up? “Perhaps a professional game maker.”(csn)
