The Weather in NRW has been really hot the last few days! But that Weather changes at the weekend. The German Weather Service speaks for some regions in NRW Warnings.
Weather in NRW: Weather warning for several regions
A violent weather situation awaits us on Saturday: Due to the warm and humid air masses, the influence of low pressure is increasing. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), some strong thunderstorms can be expected.
In the afternoon, thunderstorms with heavy rain between 15 and 25 liters per square meter can be expected in an hour. As well as gusts of more than 70 kilometers per hour and hail, reports the DWD.
On Saturday afternoon the first showers are expected to show across the western Ruhr area. The severe weather warning applies to the cities of Bochum, Recklinghausen and Dortmund. Heavy showers are also expected in the Borken district and in Ennepetal.
6.30 p.m .: Ruhr area cloudy, possible thunderstorm in the east of NRW
A gray carpet of clouds hangs over large parts of the Ruhr area. Around 9 p.m., however, the sun could come out briefly. The situation is quite different in the eastern half of NRW. According to the German Weather Service, there is an increased probability of thunderstorms. Heavy rain, gusts of wind and hail are also possible in the evenings.
4 p.m .: Heavy showers
The rain clouds have moved east. Heavy rain showers have been registered southeast of Telgte.
The German Weather Service (DWD) announced an official warning of heavy thunderstorms in Dortmund and Herne in the afternoon. There is a danger of thunderstorms of level 2 of 4. The warning is likely to apply until 3.45pm.

2.35 p.m .: First showers over NRW
At 2:00 p.m., the first showers started moving across the western Ruhr area. Some flashes have already been observed, as Kachelmannwetter reports on Twitter.
