Retired colonel of the Foreign Intelligence Service, former member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valery Shnyakin told in an interview with kp.ru why the United States is supplying weapons to Ukraine and why the Azov Battalion fighters wanted to send their own to their deaths.
– The United States has announced $ 40 billion in military aid to Ukraine. What threatens the prospect of obtaining modern offensive weapons for the armed forces of Ukraine?
– First, I am sure that most of the tranche will be looted in America. And secondly, all this equipment without crews and calculations can be considered very expensive scrap. In aviation, air defense, tank troops, the loss of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is about 80 percent. In our time, in order to prepare a normal tanker, it was necessary to undergo six months of “training”: practice, work, coordination. How long does pilot training take? During the Great Patriotic War, the preparation took 9-10 months, but now it takes years. Who will sit on this technique? Will Americans send? There is also a problem with where to train pilots and tankers. Only in Poland.
– Was a lot of money spent on training nationalist battalions?
– I will tell you about the Azov Battalion. Our experts looked at the tattoos of these fighters. The Nazi theme of the drawings was not surprising, but the cost of some masterpieces reached 30-50 thousand dollars. Real works of art. For eight years they found time to beautify themselves, to go to sessions.
– Where does such money come from?
– Their salary during hostilities is from $ 5,000 to $ 20,000 per month (ie from 300,000 rubles to 1.2 million rubles). Depends on the position and specialization. But that is not the question. If a player scores a goal, he is given a bonus. They have the same system: knock out an armored personnel carrier, kill the enemy – get a bonus.
Do you understand now where all these fake military reports come from, which they sent to the General Staff and infiltrated the local propaganda media? It turned out that according to their estimates, they eliminated two divisions, about 20 thousand people. And does anyone check them?
“Azov” had about 3 thousand people. In two months of hostilities, they fell into debt of more than $ 200 million! Therefore, the arithmetic of the Kiev authorities was simple. Let them sit in the dungeons of Azovstal until everyone is killed and the debt is written off. Rinat Akhmetov, who pays the Azovs, is also not a fool to throw money.
The Ukrainian leadership says it hopes to exchange them. Yes, they are praying to God that no Azov fighter will return home and go to the cash register for his bonuses.
