Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has denied rumors about cancer-causing instant noodles because they contain E-621.
He explained, through his official account on the Twitter site, that monosodium glutamate, which is symbolized by E-621, is one of the food additives allowed under the Saudi technical regulation.
It is considered a flavor enhancer in foods.
Scientific evidence has not proven its relationship to cancer, or serious adverse effects when taken as a food additive.
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, according to the official website of the World Health Organization (WHO).
This disease killed nearly 10 million people in 2020.
And the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population shared on Twitter a list of foods that people should stay away from because they cause cancer cells to proliferate in the body.
Foods that cause cancer cells to multiply in the body:
- High-fat foods
- fried foods
- Preserved and colored materials
- Processed meat
