Ubisoft is currently working towards the official release of its free-to-play FPS “XDefiant.” On December 6th, executive producer Mark Rubin reported on the current progress.
Although the postponement was announced, improvement work is progressing smoothly. It is said that various problems with the net code and server have been resolved, and submission tests will be conducted in preparation for release from the beginning of the year in 2024.

“X Defiant” is a new arena shooter that is basically free to play. With the increasing popularity of FPS with an emphasis on tactical elements, this is a highly anticipated title that lets you enjoy simple and speedy gunfights reminiscent of the Call of Duty games from a generation ago.
It was originally announced that it would be released in the summer of 2023. Beta testing was conducted on each platform in the spring, and the game received positive reviews from players. The roadmap up to Season 4 has also been released in preparation for release.

However, a problem was discovered after the PC version public test was conducted in September. Approval from first parties such as PlayStation could not be obtained, and the release was postponed to resolve a series of issues.

Then, once the holiday season is over, we’ll start testing for submission (submitting the game to first-party players like PlayStation and Xbox for approval testing for release). At the same time, the final bug fixes have been made, and if no new issues have surfaced, the project is finally ready for release.
I would like to think that it will be released within 2024, but considering that it was originally scheduled for release in the summer of 2023, I cannot be optimistic. As mentioned above, the release date is unknown to anyone, including the development staff, because it has to pass tests in various places first.
