Ammon – Slime is a type of chemical polymer that solidifies into one cohesive and interconnected network. It can be made from oily or watery materials. Slime has the ability to change its elasticity and stickiness as it is made. When it is placed in the palm of the hand, it flows between the fingers as a thick liquid, while if it is struck in the fist on a hard surface, it appears as a solid and wet substance.
There are several ways to make slime, including:
1. Make a low-viscosity slime:
Materials and tools needed: Soap flakes, hot water, food coloring, a bowl, and standard cups.
Steps:
– Put a cup of small soap flakes in the bowl and add four cups of hot water and stir well until the soap is completely dissolved.
Add a few drops of food coloring and stir well to color the mixture.
Leave the mixture for some time until it reaches the desired consistency.
– Whisk the mixture using a spoon quickly until it becomes easy to flow.
– Put the slime in an airtight container and store it in a place away from direct sunlight and high heat.
2. Moving slime:
Materials and tools needed: cornstarch, vegetable oil, large bowl, spoon, cork.
Steps:
– Put 3/4 of a cup of cornstarch in a large bowl, add 2 cups of vegetable oil, and mix them together well to make an elastic, liquid slime.
Place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour until it cools and hardens.
– Take the mixture out of the refrigerator and stir it well until it becomes easy to flow.
– Rubbing a piece of cork in hair or carpets to give it electric charges, then pouring slime from one container to another and moving it towards the piece of cork.
3. Edible Slime:
Required materials and tools: a can of sweetened condensed milk, cornstarch, food coloring, a frying pan, a gas burner, and a wooden spoon.
Steps:
Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk into the pan and heat it over low heat.
Add a tablespoon of cornstarch and stir until it becomes thick.
Add a few drops of food coloring and mix them well until the mixture is colored.
Remove the mixture from the heat after it becomes thick and leave it to cool completely before playing with it.
4. Hard Slime:
Materials and tools needed: glue, baking soda, food coloring, contact lens solution, bowl, spoon.
Steps:
– Put a cup of glue in the bowl and add a tablespoon of baking soda and mix them together.
– Add about eight drops of colored and stir well until the color spreads in the mixture.
Add two sprinkles of contact lens solution to give the mixture a distinct texture and make it stick together, and mix it well.
You can choose how you want to make slime and have fun playing with it once you make it. It is always advised to store the slime in an airtight container after use to maintain its quality and your enjoyment of playing with it.
