TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The coronavirus (Covid-19) has mutated several times since the pandemic began, with some variants being more infectious and deadly.
At the moment World Health Organization (WHO) classified the four mutations as a variant of concern (VOC), namely Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta.
Then there are four other variants, namely Eta, Iota, Kappa, and Lambda, which have been designated as variants of interest (VOI).
Reported Al Jazeera, in the last few weeks a rapid deployment occurred on the Lambda variant.
The Lambda variant, which was first detected in Peru, has attracted the attention of various experts.

The Lambda variant is currently the dominant variant in the Andean countries, which has a high mortality rate corona virus highest per capita in the world.
The Lambda variant has also spread to at least 28 other countries including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and the UK.
