What is kosher in Iceland? – Jewish Traveler and let us go to peace

Chabad emissary in Iceland, Rabbi Avi Feldman, checked all the products marketed in the local supermarkets, and marked for us the kosher among them. Rabbi Feldman’s list includes not only names, but also photographs of each product to verify what we are taking.

The list is segmented by different categories. It is possible to narrow down the list to strictly qualified kosher products only. Another option is to search for kosher products only in a specific store where we are located. In addition, it is possible to reduce the list according to the type of products. For example, fish, dairy products, pastries, wines, etc.

The list can also work in the opposite direction. If we are debating about the kosher of a certain product we have in our hands or in front of our eyes, we can write its name in a special window in the application, and if it is recognized as kosher, the site will indicate it immediately.

Kosher food products in Iceland should be marked with the symbols: OU, OK, KLBD, MK. But the list checked by Rabbi Feldman has kosher products, even if the kosher symbol is not printed on the packaging.
