what is known about Edik’s tragedy from the “Prisoner of the Caucasus”

The artist’s life was full of misfortunes.

Ruslan Akhmetov is best known for his role as Edik in the comedy Prisoner of the Caucasus. Over the years of his career, he has starred in more than 40 films and has pleased audiences mainly with comedic roles. However, the life of the artist himself was by no means so happy.

Thus, the artist met his first love at school. For several years she met her classmate Luda and, when they turned 18, the couple decided to go to the registry office. However, the bride’s mother was against this union, so she hid her daughter’s passport. As a student at VGIK, Akhmetov broke up with Luda, but he could not forget her and kept the image of her first love all his life.

The second companion of the artist was the French Natalia Gaponova. After several years of relationship, the couple had a daughter, Elena, but then their happiness ended. Gaponova decided to divorce her husband and left for France with her son. For several years, Akhmetov tried to find his family, but he couldn’t, so he never saw his daughter again.

For the third time, the celebrity met with her colleague – Akhmetov began dating actress Nina Zabrodina. The lovers have been together for several years, but the growing addiction to alcohol has destroyed their relationship. The addiction also affected the artist’s career. In the 1990s he was offered fewer and fewer roles, so he started drinking.

As a result, Akhmetov rented a room in his Moscow apartment in the last years of his life, and in the other he snuggled up with his mother. When she was gone, he fell into a serious depression, from which he could no longer get out: the artist died in 2005, just a year after his mother’s funeral.
